DECATUR – Hope Academy staff were sold on “The Leader in Me” after visiting schools using the program.

“I wish we could have taken pictures to show you the faces of students,” said Jenny Mullins, new assistant principal at MacArthur High School, but then serving as director of curriculum. “We walked into buildings and it was, 'Hello, my name is Sam, and I am a leader.' Everyone said, that's what we want for our kids – eye contact, a firm handshake, confidence. The academics will come when we feel we're worthy.”
