MANCHESTER, NH – The Leader in Me process is having a positive impact on Gossler Park School. Teachers in each grade are using the materials to create positive behaviors, improve the culture of the school and to create leaders one student at a time. The community is invested in these students as well, donating money towards to the program. Meredith Stidham, assistant vice president of community impact for Granite United Way, said, “I remember thinking, how do we empower kids? This was a beautiful opportunity.”

GOODRICH, MI – The students and families of Reid Elementary school are seeing the change the school’s Leader in Me process has made in school and at home. One student mentioned that he felt motivated by the principles to help his mom get groceries in the house. Principal Beth Millerschin thinks the children are receptive to the idea because the staff embraced their belief in the children’s abilities, as well as being thoroughly trained in the program.

They collected over 200 coats last year, and hope to do even better this year. WES has been practicing the “Leader in Me” model—a transformational process aimed at creating leaders—for more than four years now. “We have seen such a remarkable change in our students as they learn to be leaders. Activities such as the coat drive are an extension of this,” Principal Christopher Mitten said.

Anthony wants to either become an architect or a senator when he grows up.
