LETHBRIDGE, ALBERTA – Determined to get support for The Leader in Me at his school, Elementary teacher Derek Hoare gathered a group of kindergarten through fifth graders and their parents to help present the values to the Kinsmen Club of Lethbridge in 2013. The students talked about how the program was already changing their lives and helping them prepare to change the world. The club members were so blown away by the presentation that they decided to donate seed money for The Leader in Me teacher training and supplies. Over the last two years, the process has transformed the school by minimizing discipline and behavioral issues, emphasizing leadership skills, and increasing attendance.
