Stephen R. Covey was an internationally acclaimed leadership authority, consultant, and teacher. He was author of several renowned books, including the international bestseller The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, which was named the #1 Most Influential Business Book of the Twentieth Century, selling more than 25 million copies in thirty-eight languages. Other bestsellers include The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness, First Things First, Principle-Centered Leadership, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families, The Third Alternative, and Everyday Greatness.

Dr. Covey received the National Speakers Association Speaker of the Year recognition, the Fatherhood Award from the National Fatherhood Initiative, the Thomas More College Medallion for continuing service to humanity, the Toastmasters Golden Gavel Award, the Sikhs’ International Man of Peace Award, the International Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Dr. Covey was also recognized as one of Time magazine’s 25 Most Influential Americans and received eight honorary doctorate degrees. Sean is Executive Vice President of FranklinCovey and leads its Education Division. He is devoted to transforming education around the globe through bringing leadership principles and skills to as many students, educators, and schools as possible. He is a New York Times bestselling author of The 6 Most Important Decisions You’ll Ever Make, The 7 Habits of Happy Kids, and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, which has been translated into twenty languages and sold over 4 million copies worldwide.

Sean is a frequent national conference keynote speaker. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in English and earned his MBA from Harvard Business School. As the quarterback for BYU, he led his team to two bowl games and was twice selected as the ESPN Most Valuable Player of the Game.

Born in Belfast, Ireland, Sean’s favorite activities include going to movies, working out, hanging out with his kids, riding his dirt bike, and writing poor poetry. Sean and his wife, Rebecca, live with their children in the Rocky Mountains.

Muriel Summers

Muriel Summers has been the principal of A.B. Combs in Raleigh, North Carolina, since 1998. She holds a BA degree from UNC–Chapel Hill, a master’s in elementary education from UNC–Charlotte, a master’s in school administration from the University of Maryland, and an honorary doctorate from California University. It was Ms. Summers’s vision to create the first leadership-based elementary school in the United States. Her school, A.B. Combs Elementary, has received many national awards under her guidance, including The National Blue Ribbon, The National School of Character, The National Magnet School of America, the National Title 1 Distinguished School, and the National Elementary School of the Year, as well as being designated as the inaugural Lighthouse School by FranklinCovey Education. She is the very proud mother of two children, Banks and Colin. Her passion is collaborating with fellow educators in making a difference for children around the globe.

Dr. David Hatch

Dr. David K. Hatch is Global Director of Strategic Initiatives for Franklin Covey Education. David’s consulting career has taken him across the world to more than thirty-five countries. His individual and organizational leadership assessments have been utilized by millions of leaders worldwide. He is coauthor of Everyday Greatness with Dr. Stephen R. Covey and was the lead researcher for the 1st and 2nd editions of The Leader in Me. He has consulted in corporate, government, and education sectors, with the past decade being devoted to innovating and applying practical tools for school and individual transformation. He resides in Lindon, Utah, with his wife, Mary Ann, and their children, and is dedicated to making the world a little better for them and others wherever he travels.
