Why I believe in the Leader in Me program

Suzy’s mom was able to see her daughter’s confidence in a local leadership day held in her daughter’s school. This entire day was student led as they demonstrated the leadership skills they have developed through The Leader in Me process.

Recently, students demonstrated their leadership skills to several out of town educators who visited Vicksburg to learn about The Leader in Me process and how it works. One teacher from Arkansas commented, “It’s phenomenal. We don’t have this stuff where we’re at, and we’re excited to be able to take this home with us.”

DOVER, DE ­– Booker T. Washington Elementary School has undergone a tremendous transformation since 2012. Once designated as a “focus school” Booker T. Washington Elementary was recently named a Title I Distinguished school. Superintendent Kevin Fitzgerald attributes this turnaround to The Leader in Me and to the students taking responsibility for their test scores and grades and being proactive in their decision making.

LANCASTER, SC – For Maj. Matt Shaw of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office this was no normal business lunch. The plan he was being presented was comprehensive, complete with talking points, and left Shaw “stunned”. The presenter was a 7-year-old second grader from Buford Elementary School. Using skills she’s learned through The Leader in Me, Cali Bell presented Maj. Shaw with a plan to provide stuffed animals in every sheriff’s patrol car. This idea and process was completely student driven.
