PADUCAH, KY – Paducah Middle School students demonstrated their leadership skills to parents and teachers at its first Leadership Day as part of The Leader in Me process. Students took the lead on the activities and gave presentations to talk about the habits they have learned about effective leadership. Assistant Principal Patrick Saddler said, “It's teaching them how to talk in front of their teachers and in front of their parents."

LOVELAND, CO – The Loveland Chamber of Commerce is putting on its third annual Dancing with the Stars, aiding the funding for The Leader in Me process in the Thompson School District. "We believe heavily in the program," said Mindy McCloughan, president of Loveland Chamber of Commerce. "We know the program itself is going to feed into the strong character in our youth but it will eventually help to build the workforce pipeline."

SUNNYVALE, CA – Bishop Elementary School recently held their second annual Leadership Day. What do members of the staff think The Leader in Me is accomplishing in their school? Assistant Principal Becky Schmidt said, “Ultimately I think it is empowering the kids.” Bishop is also seeing a decrease in their discipline referrals. Referrals to the office in October dropped from 40 from the preceding year to 18.

James Ward Elementary shows off success of Leader in Me

JENNINGS, LA – Teachers have seen a major decrease in disciplinary referrals since implementing The Leader in Me process at James Ward Elementary School. Many of the kids who attend the school grew up in poverty, making it difficult to have the best role models. However, since implementing the process, teachers have seen massive improvements. “Many of our children who are coming out of poverty homes are entering our school at age 4, but they don’t have the social and emotional skills of what we would consider a normal, regular 4-year-old, so this program helps develop some of those skills of self-respect, responsibility, self-discipline and regulation,” Principal Suzanne Doucet said.
