As Camdenton Rotary members walked into their monthly meeting at Golden Rock Winery on Wednesday, they were greeted by elementary-aged students.
A total of 13 students from Osage Beach Elementary and Hurricane Beach Elementary spoke to the members about what they are learning through the ‘Leader in Me’ program that has been implemented in their schools.

The school started The Leader in Me program this school year, and staff, students and parents are pleased with the results, said Nolley Principal Christi Pappas.

We couldn’t be more proud of the work of our students, teachers, administrators and business community have put forth to make The Leader In Me a model for education across the country. With our eye ever on the future, Bowling Green and Warren County have made a commitment to creating a talented and capable workforce by growing leadership skills from the earliest possible moment. We have been fortunate to have a business community that has the resources and foresight to fund this pilot initiative. The mission, however, has always been to see The Leader In Me expanded to schools all across the state.

Who knew that by implementing The Leader in Me, Warren County and Bowling Green would become the “go-to” Leader in Me capital of the commonwealth and the Southeast?
As many of our schools continue training and implementation on the path to Lighthouse Status, a certification level when The Leader in Me operations are considered self-sustaining and permanent, they have become the center of statewide and national attention.
