Impressive Student Lighthouse Leader

Recently a group from FranklinCovey Education met Robert, a 5th grade Student Lighthouse Leader from Beaumont Elementary, a Lighthouse School in Michigan. Robert exemplifies the best in The Leader in Me students; he greeted us, shook our hands, made excellent eye contact with each of us, and had a smile that lit up the room! As the only student in a group of adults, Robert’s confidence, poise , and leadership was amazing.

As we talked, Robert shared a project he recently completed. The assignment was to compare how two leaders use the 7 Habits. Robert chose U.S .President Barack Obama and Dr. Stephen R. Covey. He listed how each leader uses the habits and then completed a Venn Diagram to show the similarities between the two. His project was impressive but not quite as impressive as his explanation.

Robert’s “Glamorous Leaders” project is a great example of incorporating the 7 Habits into current curriculum. Robert, himself, is a shining example of the impact The Leader in Me can have on the life of a child.
